Thank you for thinking of me. I came through Helene alright though had a few scary hours as being on the dirty side of the storm we had numerous tornado warnings, two of them within a mile or two of me. More for this storm than in the 10 previous years. I am very grateful to Mr. Lowry for these posts and along with them and keeping track on weather radar during this time of year I am able to keep up on developments and plan ahead. I keep in sufficient supplies all season and have several evacuation plans to use if needed depending on the storms direction, size, etc. I am lucky that though I am close to the Peace River and not all that far from Charlotte Harbor, I am on higher ground and so far there is no history of storm surge hitting us though downtown has had some. Nothing like Ft Myers or up north thankfully, we have barrier islands blocking us from some of it..
Cat, I am in New York State; it is Laura I worry about the most should another hurricane come along or even if a large tornado outbreak from conventional weather systems comes along. I also hope Alyce will be OK in the event of another hurricane. I appreciate you thinking of me!!
I'm hoping that Laura T., Alyce and Daniel M. are as well as they can be, given everything that has occurred recently. 🌹🙏🏻🌹
