In September 1961 Houston was on the dirty side of massive Hurricane Carla. Although landfall was farther down the coast than Beryl, we had massive damage to property and infrastructure. I remember being without power for 3 weeks in exhausting heat. Small spin-up tornadoes contributed to some of the damage, but hours of persistent wind and strong gusts pushed over trees and fences in ways similar to Beryl. My take-away is there are no small hurricanes!
Great information, Mr. Lowry 🌿
Thank you for keeping us informed.
We'd best enjoy this reprieve

Good summary. Thank you.
Rats! I hoped it would hold off until September. I really wish this season was over.
