Thank you for your helpful analyses. Are there any sneak peeks on steering conditions for the storm moving next week into the warmer waters? (I apologize for asking this while Lee is bearing down on the New England/Canada coast!) Alyce

All we know is it may move northwest around the high. As long as the high stays weak, no problem for the US or Canada. Should the high suddenly re-strengthen, that's a whole different ball game. We will see what the high does next week.

Thank you for the info. I live on a Gulf Coast beach and have set out to learn as much as a lay person can about hurricane weather conditions. Not really for decision-making but for some semblance of peace of mind!

I live on the Gulf coast too for the last 9 years and last year Ian was a real experience of the type you don't want. Irma didn't do me any damage but did some of my neighbors. This site has been great on keeping us up to date on these things during the season.

Thanks, I am glad you have an interest in hurricanes and hopefully you haven't had too much damage in the last few years from all the hurricanes that have hit the Gulf Coast. I hope you have a good rest of the day!!
