The way things are going, Laura, I think there's nothing to worry about as the overall pattern favors trough in the East, a ridge in the West; that will temporarily change this coming weekend, but more deep trough will visit the East starting next week, so expect more cold fronts. I think things are looking pretty good.
A real relief as I don't think I want to have to handle going through another Ian. I'm exhausted from the clean up from that one and nowhere near done yet.
Are you still cleaning up around your lanai? What else hasn't been done? Hopefully the weather will cooperate in your clean-up efforts; there are scattered thundershowers around Florida this afternoon. It will be like that for a few days, then get better.
The insurance company came out and tarped my roof Saturday as it was worse off than I thought. I have plastic sheeting duct taped to the missing windows and got a new lock to hold the door to the lanai closed as the winds had broken the 2 I had off. I am still debating putting up the new offset umbrella and patio table I had bought just a bit before Ian. I have been waiting for the end of the season before doing so. Still some debris in the lake behind my house but not going into that water for anything.
No, I wouldn't bother going into that water. You don't know how dirty that water may be, or if there are germs that can make you sick. I guess that lake did not flood?
No the lake was raised a couple of feet for a short time but didn't flood. The houses were in no danger from it or the Peace River. Yeah the water isn't the cleanest but we do have gators in the lake and I don't fancy meeting them in their element.
Let's hope if another one comes it stays out to sea. No one needs another Ian.
