At this point, they just threw the ceremonial first pitch late this week. Now the first batter is up and this "game" has a long way to go to make tropical storm or hurricane. Yes, no one should believe the hype, especially some models that love to spin up fantasy hurricanes that don't exist. You have a very thoughtful analysis and foresight. You seem down-to-earth in your approach to things. You remind me of another meteorologist who does a weather show on You Tube; he is Joe Cioffi, who does a show along with colleague Joe Rao at night. They too do not hype storms. They do not believe models that do. They believe in an average consensus of all the global models and non-global models. In the meantime, we will keep watching that one system, as it certainly will be a candidate for at LEAST a weak tropical storm, but it too, will run into that sheer and dry air. This may prevent it from being the fantasy hurricane that is on the GFS near New Orleans, if you can even believe this model. We have oodles of time to watch this, Mike. Meanwhile, enjoy the storm tracking!!
