Mike seems too think it won't, Laura, but the wild card is that major high pressure area that is going to provide the hot weather in the Northeast by the weekend. If for some reason it is stronger than expected, it COULD force that closer one to go more northwestward or west than is currently anticipated. That COULD put Florida into play.
I really hope not, between finishing the post Ian repairs at the beginning of the year, the blasted surgery, rehab and other such nonsense I really hope we get a break this year.
I'm giving up on pretending to be a forecaster. This year has been somewhat predictable with SAL and sheering but for the most part I've been calling it wrong. We're in a transition to a new climactic regime and all bets are off as far as I'm concerned.
Looks like the one closer to Africa may turn out farther to sea but the one closer may come our way. Guess we have to wait and see.

So far you've had a wonderful break. At least you don't need to worry about Francine.
True, but I do have friends and family over that way. Hope they don't have too much of a problem with Francine.
Friends & family in Louisiana? I hope they stay safe.
Texas, Mississippi and Louisiana. I haven't been to any of those states so don't know what their areas are like.
